Kurz provádí studující základními perspektivami, ze kterých sociální věda a umění analyzují a uchopují téma těla a tělesnosti. Všímá si těla jako společenského a kulturního objektu a zároveň jako aktéra sociálních procesů i uměleckých performancí. Na vybraná témata v tomto kurzu budeme nahlížet z pohledu sociální antropologie a kritické teorie. Cílem kurzu Tělo na poli umění a sociologie aneb Umělecký výzkum, který probíhá od roku 2011 ve spolupráci Fakulty výtvarných umění a Fakulty sociálních studií, je propojit práci studujících a vyučujících ze sociálně-vědních, humanitních a uměleckých oborů a nahlížet témata spojená s tělem a tělesností z různých perspektiv. Naše zaměření je interdisciplinární, důraz je kladen na dialog a schopnost společné týmové práce.
Tématem kurzu pro zimní semestr 2012 je lidský handicap, který se může projevovat na různých úrovních /fyzické, smyslové, sociální, genderové…/, ale vždy je specifický co by odchylka od normálu. Historie definování, vnímání a řešení handicapů podává velmi silnou informaci o stavu „normální“ populace a relativnosti pojmu „normální“. Kurz se skládá z několika typů lekcí: z přednášek lektorek Evy Šlesingerové a Lenky Klodové, z prezentací hostů /Humor a stáří – prezentace práce Zdravotních klaunů na geriatrických odděleních, prezentace arteterapie, přednášky Kateřiny Kolářové (česká sociálně vědná odbornice na disability studies …, Šárky Hájkové ze sdružení ALKA nebo někoho z Theresiasu (centrum pro handicapované studující Masarykovy univerzity)/ a především ze seminárních lekcí. V seminárních lekcích skupiny studentů naleznou v rámci předmětu kurzu téma zpracovatelné jak uměleckými, tak i sociálně-vědnými metodami a pokusí se tento společný projekt realizovat.
hodnocení a podmínky absolvování kursu:
60% - projekt na vybrané téma, 17 000 – 20 000 znaků včetně poznámek pod čarou a literatury; výběr relevantního tématu a jeho zpracování pomocí k němu vztažených konceptů/analytických nástrojů a interpretace je ve vaší kompetenci a bude součástí hodnocení.
40% - prezentace projektu
K úspěšnému absolvování je třeba získat minimálně 60% bodů.

Artistic Research - The body in the field of sociology and art
Seminar artistic research in the area of the body and the media establishing cooperation between students and teachers and Fava FSS MU. The seminar is part of the established five working groups, each composed of students rather both schools.
The task of the working groups was to find a workable topic from both sociological and from an artistic perspective, collectively process it and give it a visual and text message.

REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH INITIATIVE
The starting point is the issue of midwifery in the Czech Republic, namely the case with Mrs. Königsmarková, midwife, which is currently facing an action for unintentional injury, which was to be kept at her home birth. Discussion that accompanies this case, students inspired to create subverzivního artistic project that critically reflects not only the issue of Czech obstetrics but also the issue of the dominant medical discourse in general.

"And it's serious for a guy?" Or gender stereotyping in tests of lifestyle media
Our project started a discussion about the absurdity of various tests in lifestyle magazines. In the group we have come to a consistent view that the only function as a way to fill the extra magazine page, or to entice potential readers under the promise that they are based on ten simple questions gets' assessment of their personality. " This assessment, however, in most (if not all) cases it is very trivial, general, and absolutely does not reflect the "real" personality types, because not used (or does not) any professional methodologies, and mostly so this is just a categorization of persons the stereotyped responses to stereotyped questions. The most common is by gender stereotyping. Our team wondered how people would react in the event that these tests turned - if the men got "Test Man", which would include questions from the typical female test, and vice versa, if women received a typically "male issues" in the test Uninvited "Test for women."

EMOTIONS IN PUBLIC AREA
In this work we would like to give the topic expressing emotions in public. Following the article published on the web ona.idnes.cz "suffocated inside emotions. Go and cry out to the park, "we decided to make performance-related observations. The Article provides instructions on how to get rid of accumulated frustration through an open expression of emotion not only in private but also in public spaces. The view presented in some ways like a novel, is influenced by the normative expectations of society. Recommended to show emotions, but we can still be considered acceptable for the neighborhood and in places where there is no direct contact with the social environment or a group of well-known people in front of which we can be manifestation of emotions compromise or humiliate. As one of the states of suitable public places such as park. The Article serve us as an inspiration to the project, whose aim was to determine the form of the reaction of passers explicit expression of emotions in public spaces. Selecting a site performance, Vaňkovka, we crossed the borders defined by the author of the article as acceptable as a public space in which there is an immediate, albeit anonymizovanému contact individuals.

Intersexuality
The aim is to familiarize readers and readers with the existence of marginalized groups intersex individuals. While it is necessary to describe the current medical practice, put her critique and suggest possibly find in the literature a new and better approaches to this phenomenon.
